These white blood cells are contained in a fluid called lymph. There are several lymphatic disorders that can affect the function of the lymphatic system, such as infection, cancer and obstruction, as reported by Merck Manual. The American Cancer Society states that Castleman disease is known as a disease that attacks the lymphatic system and can be one of the most potent conditions that effects the specified system. They also mention that the condition is quite rare, but have several statistics published about the outlook of a patient diagnosed with the condition.

The Lymphatic System

The lymphatic system consists of several lymphatic vessels that are connected to lymph nodes. The lymph fluid is filtered at the lymph nodes. Several parts of the human body form the lymphatic system, including the spleen, tonsils, thymus and adenoids. Hundreds of lymph nodes are contained within the human body. Most of the lymph nodes are contained deeper inside of the body, but several nodes can also be found under the arm and groin. The main organs of the lymphatic system include:

  • The spleen, which is located above the kidney. The spleen controls blood storage in the body and regulates the amount of red blood cells present. The spleen also creates white blood cells if any potentially dangerous material is detected such as viruses or bacteria.
  • The thymus, which is located just above the heart. The thymus is known as an essential organ in the lymphatic system and prepares specialized blood cells in order to convert them into active T cells. The active T cells then assists with destroying cancerous cells and infected cells.
  • The tonsils are known as the first line of defense and is located in the pharynx. This organ samples all material that enters the body through either the nose or mouth.

Common Diseases

Several diseases have been associated with the lymphatic system and its functions. Lymphadenopathy is the most commonly diagnosed disease and causes the enlargement of lymph nodes. Lymphedema is also a common disease that causes lymph nodes to swell. There are numerous types of cancers that also attacks the lymphatic system and causes several conditions and problems with the system. Live Science reports that these conditions can affect only the area where the infection occurs or it can spread to a wider area and affect several lymph nodes. The affected area depends on the condition and the severity of the disease, as well as the widespread status of the infection. An infection such as HIV causes lymph nodes to enlarge in various parts of the body, while an infection in the throat will usually only cause lymph nodes in the neck to enlarge.

Lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymph nodes and is also a common disease that causes problems with the functions of the lymphatic system. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society reports that around 788,939 people are living with lymphoma in the United States at the moment. In 2016, a total of 81,080 new cases of the cancer is expected to be diagnosed as well.

Bioresonance Therapy for Cleansing

Many patients with problems related to the lymphatic system have turned towards bioresonance therapy to find relief of the symptoms they experience. Several conditions have been treated successfully using this method of therapy, thus a growing interest in this alternative treatment option is observed during the last few years. The therapy can also be accompanied with an additional treatment method such as a body compress technique in order to maximize the effectiveness of the treatment.

Conclusion

The lymphatic system provides essential functions to the human body and assists with fighting off infections and several diseases. Harmful bacteria and viruses are also demolished through the fluid that spreads throughout the lymphatic system. While several diseases have been identified to pose a threat to the lymphatic system, treatment options can provide an effective cleanse for the entire system. Alternative treatment options such as bioresonance therapy have also been proven to provide an effective treatment for several conditions that causes problems within a patient’s lymphatic system.
